Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design

Vemac is committed to the success and increased adoption of sustainable construction practices and the long term benefits for the building owners, occupants and environment.

Vemac is proud to be a part of El Paso’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) construction project for the Socorro Independent School District: Chester E. Jordan Elementary.

Socorro Independent School District’s newest elementary will house 600 students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. This school will be a 77,168 square foot facility, built on a 24-acre site. Chester E. Jordan Elementary is designed as a LEED certified school and will be considered a “Green School” which will be the first of its kind in the El Paso area. Chester E. Jordan will open its doors on July 2008.
