Brigade Staging Area Complex


Project Description

The Brigade Staging Area Complex (BSAC) project includes a tank trail consisting of 16-inch reinforced concrete air-field pavement over aggregate base course with HMA shoulders, approximately 2 miles in length. This all-weather tank access road connects the Fort Bliss railhead to the Brigade Staging Area Complex, a vehicle deployment processing center for inspection, weighing, and staging of military vehicles and equipment for deployment by air, rail, or land.

BSAC includes: administration operations building, secure parking, two troop personnel shelters, tactical vehicle hardstand parking (12-inch concrete air-field pavement), all-weather tank access road, small wash rack, inspection area, two vehicle scales and scale building, defueling area, wastewater treatment facility, intrusion detection system (IDS) installation, connections to energy monitoring and control systems (EMCS), utility distribution lines, site lighting, information systems, and mass notification systems. Supporting facilities include: utilities, electric service, site improvements, and information systems. Anti-terrorism/Force Protection measures include stand-off distance, laminated glass, and security lighting. Sustainable Design and Development (SSD) and Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPA Act 05) features were provided.
