Project Description

The project is for the construction of a new U.S. Army Reserve Center (ARC). The project includes the construction of an approximately 30,000 sf Army Reserve Center training building that is a one story steel structure with masonry/stone veneer, an approximately 3,000 sf structural masonry Organizational Maintenance Shop (OMS), and an approximately 1,000 sf pre-engineered metal Unheated Storage Facility (UHS). The project also includes approximately 1,200 square yards of military equipment parking, 5,000 square yards for privately owned vehicle parking, a 30,000 lf Perimeter Road of 12” concrete paving, a covered wash rack with water recycling system, photovoltaic site lighting, and a 30 KW array of solar panels. The project is being constructed to LEED Silver certifiable criteria and incorporates several sustainable features including the water recycling system and PV systems noted above. This project involved close coordination with the Texas Air National Guard Reserve Center which is located immediately adjacent to the project site as the two facilities share several services and functions.
